Traditional Table Massage
Your basic relaxing, full body experience. A Swedish massage involves a table, sheets and massage oils or creams. Firm but gentle pressure with consideration to all areas of the body often allows for the nervous system to fall into a parasympathetic state, or a mode of repose. This hour to hour-and-a-half session assists in one's aspiration to increase circulation, encourage joint fluidity, restore the body's balance or simply unwind. A full body, Swedish session often doesn't lend extra time to focus on specific areas without leaving something else out.
Deep Tissue Massage
A traditional deep tissue session includes light use of oils or lotions, is generally an hour in length and focuses on one or two specific areas on the body. This type of modality works deep into the layers of the muscle and fascia, helping to relieve severe tension or adhesion in the tissue.
Visceral Manipulation is a modality that deals with particular issues in the abdominal cavity. Also known as "bellywork," visceral massage can help to reclaim fluidity among organs, improving the movement in the visceral cavity therefore restoring its natural condition and replenishing the health of the body as a whole. In addition to the stimulation of overall flow and wellness in the viscera, the modality is also very helpful for conditions such as indigestion, acid reflux, breathing difficulties, scar tissue buildup, pelvic dysfunction and many others.
Other specialized modalities include TMJ for jaw dysfunction, pre-event sports massage and prenatal massage during pregnancy.
